Is this a factory stripe?

Just picked up this 88 for parts but it is better than my project 88.
QUESTION IS...it seems to have original paint.
Anyone seen this stripe before? Is it original?
I can't find any others like it in my searching.

bought my first toyota in 86, I don't recall ever seeing that stripe.
Is it a decal or was it painted on like old school pinstripes?

It is a decal.
Yeah I think I am going to restore this one and sell my other 88. Couple more pics as requested...

my '88 is much worse than that one! and i considered running it, until i poked at the frame a bit, and discovered that it was really tender and thin. but it runs good. would have been a good winter beater. alas, i'll have to be happy with the 2 '87s instead.

although your blue body has a few dings, it really looks solid. not a bad place to start.

Probably going to let my other 88 go soon if you or anyone is interested. Top is included.
No engine or trans but solid.
22re 5sp dlx with 95% interior intact.
No sure what it is worth but paid 500 bucks for it.

The paint looks original, but those stripes do not. Dealer add-on back in the day perhaps?
