06 4runner 4.0 Automatic. When the Air conditioning is on or defrost is on and it cycles on and off, my RPM's fluctuate from 500 to 750. It is annoying at a traffic light where you have to have different foot pressure on the brake pedal. At a traffic light this may happen 3 or 4 times so it is cycling quite often. I know that when the air compressor kicks on the rps's have to keep up but something seems like it's not right! Your thoughts please?

In my "opinion" the a/c cycles on/off too much in these rigs. "click on"/turns off/"click on"/turns off/"click on"/turns off/"click on"/turns off/"click on"/turns off/"click on"/turns off
It's like it'll click on for like 30 seconds, then turn off for 10, then click back on for 30 and so-on. Judging by the other posts here, it seems they all do this. It's only noticable if you're listening/watching for it though (and of course the RPM/light creep...lol)
Guessing it has to do with gas savings/etc. FYI that on my last trip to the dealer, I asked them to pressure check/give a checkup on my a/c. I mentioned exactly what mine does and they said its completely normal.
