Safe to supercharge after 200K?

I was bitten by the supercharger bug a while back. Been saving ever since, hence the lack of mods. turns out URD and TRD and Level 10 don't give that stuff away

I am unsure about how to go about it, with a truck with over 205K and a sweet smelling exhaust.

I was thinking about buying re manufactured heads, replacing every gasket from there up, and replacing the water pump etc. I have a gear head who can look at the heads when they're exposed, but I'm still unsure.

If I repuild the motor from the heads up, can it take a supercharger with some semblance of reliability?

I took a side job to make the dream happen. I'm about a month away from doing so. I canned the 1uz engine swap and the 2uz swap because, I am not a mechanic and all this extra work has got me thinking of simplifying things.

if your going to rebuild the top end and have it down to a long block depending on how the cylinder walls look I would think you would be okay. Plastagauge makes a simple way of checking the clearance between the connecting rods and the bearings. While your at it pull a couple of connecting rod ends and maybe a end cap and check the clearance and if there with in speck then your golden and good for not just the supercharge but urd goodies. Even as it sits if its still running strong then you should bee good. If the transmission is a automatic and is on all original internals then I would be easy on the loud petal.

And how do you get a sweet smelling exhaust.

When you take of the heads, check the block , drop the pan and see if anything raises any eyebrows.

If your running stock boost and do the correct rebuild , I dont any any red flags but dont imagine anymore than 80k to 100k before you might need rings, ETC

I feel certain, i have a head with a leak. There is no way my exhaust can smell that sweet on cold starts and not have a minor leak. it does not eat coolant, it merely sips, but I can tell.

Anyone know a spot where you can check the tolerances on the cylinder heads? Whats the course of action if I am out of tolerance?

I think the exhaust always smells sweet when its first started. How much coolant are you adding? Ever run a compression or leak down test?
