Is this the correct shim kit for Tundra brake upgrade?

I ordered the 13WL calipers today. Thursday I will be ordering the OEM rotors and pads. Pads do not come with shim kit.
In the big thread with all the measurements he has 04945-35120 listed. These are 04945-04012...but he also says something about shims and pads kit. I'm just looking for a bit of clarity.

Is this the correct kit for the larger brakes?




If not, can I just buy a cheap set of pads from autozone that come with the shims and use those with OEM pads?

i have no idea if that's the right stuff, but holy crap they are expensive!

if it were me, I would just get a small tube of caliper grease, and not use any shims. their purpose is anti squeal, which is the same thing the grease does.

the shims can always be easily added later if you decide you must have/need them.

This. I did not use shims on my upgrade, and they've seen hell yet have not produced any noise ever! Good brake grease will be your friend.

There should be a toyota pad kit that comes with both the front pads and shims. for 50-60$

if the pads are the same as the 4runner that is the right shims.

Toyota dealership stated that the pads did not come with shims.

The main thread with all the measurements states there is a kit, but the pads aren't as good as quality as the pads without shims.

if the pads are the same as the 4runner that is the right shims.

THE 04465-35290 brake pad come with no shims. THe kit you are thinking of is the 04465-az001-tm that is a cheaper kit that includes grease and shims but they cut a portion of the pad away so you dont have as much surface area (between 15-25% I would estimate)

also that 04012 is wrong

You want shims for a 2005 Toyota Tundra 4x4. Those look the same as what I have but no idea on size from just a picture.

I had wagner pads, it could just be rotors were not true, but i scraped them for OEM, with oem rotors and new calipers. and brakes smooth as can be. IWagner pads did the job once they were bedded in, but no where near as smooth as OEM.

Just my 2 cents. You won't be disappointed with OEM pads and shims. even at the pretty penny they are.

$60 for OEM shims is expensive when I can just use the autozone shims with OEM pads.....assuming they are compatible.

you are already going OEM everything just go with OEM shims. Just my 2 cents.

its more expensive, everyones going to look at you funny. I wouldn't think twice. More time to enjoy your night relaxing... Just my opinion. Cars are meant to be driven.
