Is this thermostat same for our cars ?

Wanted to buy 90916-03075 thermostat but the shop guy insisted that it was no more available widely and Toyota changed that part number to 90916-03136. Checked it visually, same dimensions, same 82c stamped on it but don't know anything about flow calibration, bypass behavior etc. Haven't bought it untll I get good confirmation that it is 100% interchangeable.
What do you say guys ?

We all don't have the same vehicles, so hard to say since you didn't post your vehicle info so we could research this.

When I search for parts I enter all info to make sure I getting accurate info, I have a 4th Gen so I know very little about 3rd Gens but I'm very good at finding info on parts if I have vehicle info, but since you don't want to help yourself!

I did look up both of the part numbers you posted but the results weren't clear as to year and engine, etc.

Sorry to trouble you to try and help you, find the info you seek on your own...DUDE!!!

If you 'have 4th gen and know very little about 3rd gens', no need to go off topic, 4th gen section is a little bit upper, where you might be more useful :wave:

I have helped many of 3rd Gen owners, I could have the info you seek within minutes if you had just posted the year and engine (just an FYI there are 2 different engines for 3rd Gens), but if you don't need my help good luck, and I visit all the forum sections and help if I can.

But my point was, any time someone is searching for parts on any Toyota part website they want all the vehicle info to ensure they are showing the correct parts, you can't just enter "3rd Gen"!!

You will be looking a long time for "by-pass calibration and flow behavior". I doubt there is an engineer at Toyota who could give you that. But I could be wrong, keep looking.

So funny thing. I was having issues with my t-stat. So I got a oem and the aisin tht019. I did a boil test with both of them.

Aisin opened 2-3 degrees sooner then the oem, but the oem opened much bigger then the aisin. Did this test about 5 times for consistency.

Went with the oem as opening bigger was better, but still might toss in the aisin to get the few degrees cooler opening.
