Is tire rack to be believed?

I have 63k on my silent armors and they have been great. I am torn between bfg ko2 and the silent armors. I really believe that I'd I pushed it I could get 75k out of them. But winter is coming and I dont want to chance it.. tire rack says bfg is best. Are they right?

Those are not unbiased reviews. Lots of guys that are hung up on having "the best" will pay a premium for it and will then rate it as the best regardless of it's actual performance to convince themselves that they are canny consumers and didn't waste money. I forget the name of it, but it's a terribly common effect.

I'm not saying the BFGs suck, they're great tires and you probably couldn't go wrong with them if they're in your budget. But I think you probably couldn't go wrong with the top half of that list, so don't overthink it. If you liked the Silentarmors, run them again.

I'm in the same boat. I have 60K on my silent armors and I keep debating getting another set or the KO2's. I've got enough tread to last until spring, then the decision will be made.

The Goodyear Adventurers are supposed to be an upgraded iteration of the silent armors. Both the BFGs and the Adventurers can be installed for $1000 even out the door. I may give them a try.

I suggest searching around different tire seller sites. There are good deals to be had for tires that are comparable to BFGs. I picked up a set of Toyo OC AT3 4 for under $500 not long ago.
