Is your 3rd gen... ugly?

I would rock that color any day.
That guy just doesn't know what to do with it to bring out its good side.

I think that color looks sharp. I see tons of them and they really look good shined up, they are known to get pealing clear coats very easily though. That 4Runner pictured needs some freshening up though, that faded valence isn't helping it.

Word, I LOVE the Anthracite Metallic, and think its the best color the 3rd gens came in. Especially with the gunmetal limited flares and cladding.

That is my favorite color for the 3rd gens. Toyota has much worse colors like the iceberg blue or whatever it is. Just a disgrace to all 4runner owners right there.

Oh yea. Aside from the 2002 pearl white lookin color, that is one of my favorites. If he wants to find the ugliest color 4runner he needs to look up a BLURPLE Runner.

that is my color of 4runner and i love it, now I just need to find someone to repaint the hood, does anyone know the paint code for it by any chance?

yeah i love that color on our runners, i wanted one that color or red red, but alas i found one in sunfire red and its ok i wish i had the manual too and the factory locking rear diff. i want that color and the 5spd he should be punched and carjacked

My favorite so far is the stellar blue pearl, the anthracite metallic and thundercloud metallic and pear white are close behind though

I get compliments on mine all the time. I love the color.

Totally agree about the shi**y clear coat though. its on my roof and hood.

Actually, I semi-agree. Not that it's the worst, neccessarily, but not a great color, either. Just another variation of gray, which I hate.

FWIW, I'm not crazy about my Desert Dune either, but as the previous poster said, I didn't buy my vehicle for its color.

Having said that, what is up with colors on cars these days? It's like all of a sudden the only colors you can get are:

Black
White
Red
Silver

and 18 f***in' shades of gray! Why gray? :moping:

To me, black, white and gray aren't even colors. They're the absence of color. It's like they're the default choice of people who can't make up their minds.

And silver - let's get real: Silver is just a shiny version of gray.

Back in the 1990's, vehicles came in vibrant colors: Deep reds, bright reds, greens, blues. Now it's all black, white, silver and gray with the odd red one thrown in. The 4th gen-up 4runners are like that too, sad to say.

Nissan made the Xterra in some awesome colors once, too: Oranges, deep purplish/blue, bright yellow, various shades of green, etc. They still make the yellow and red, and there's a dark blue but otherwise it's all black, white and gray :nono:

Almost every 4th or 5th gen I see is black, white, silver, or gray.

There was actually a dark green 4th gen made, but I think it was only in the early years (maybe 2003 or 2004 only.) Too bad, it's a gorgeous color.

My favorite color is green and if I could make my 4runner any color I wanted it would be the dark, forest green.

The 3rd gens came in some great colors besides the forest green. I've seen a seafoam green, a light blue, and that beautiful "autumn mist" or whatever it was called - the reddish-brown one. Sexy! :naughty:

Autumn Blaze I believe it was.

Yeah, I love some of the more custom colors these have been made in. Companies are going to fewer colors I am sure because it is so much cheaper than holding such varying inventory. They are not trying to make an awesome car, just one that will sell, and most people don't want a loud car.

Black, white, silver, grey, candy apple red, navy blue. That's probably 90% of vehicles out there.

Lol thats my favorite color the 4Runner came in, that guy is a on crack. My fathers boss has one in that color with thr same specs as mine minus the rust, and it looks sweet!

IMO, I think Toyota pulled off the best looking brown on a vehicle. When I was a kid both of my parents cars were brown. I think the brown they were using was Moonlite Feces brown??? Can't remember exactly. Anywho is was uggghh-leeee! One could say ugly as sh!t? Ass ugly? Sure, why not? :)
