I just wanted someone to share my enthusiasm as I got this in the mail today for the ISR mod. Unfortunately no one I know personally shares my enthusiasm. haha

Brushed Aluminum ISR Mod Pipe

LOL. Yea, I actually have converted maybe 5-6 total people. Originally peeps from POS v8's to Mitsubishi AWD turbos. And now I have converted 2 people to 4runners and soon to be 3. I have a good way of doing that. Once you mod up something, show them what it can do its not that hard.

Yeah but you can laugh back at them when it snows and they have to put on chains and drive 10 MPH. Or as you take off down a forest service road and they have to walk.

That is some what true. What is cool about the cars we build is they are AWD. So in winter they run snow tires on stock rims, in summer its drag radials on the street.

A big turbo AWD Talon, Eclipse, or Evo Lancer is better in snow than a stock one because the turbo dont starting spooling till 5k rpms anyways. So you have less power down low and the Mitsubishi VSC is nasty and works awesome in snow.

Wow, that's surprising. But I suppose that makes sense, I have notice more sports cars coming equipped with AWD. Around here most people will beef up pre-75 cars like Corvettes or Camaros to be exempt from California's strict smog laws.
 
After hours of searching, I found a machines shop who sells pre-cut intake pipes. He already had OD 2.75 in x 6 in so I just asked to be cut to 5.65 in.

I paid 25 including shipping, which is little expensive for a piece of a pipe, but I really liked how it looked and it's still way cheaper than a new intake system so that was my excuse to overpay.

After seeing the product, I am very satisfied.

These AWD cars are no joke. They are street monsters. Nothing can get out of the hole as fast as these AWD cars. The lancers, Talons, Eclipses AWD viscous coupler is a beast. It just grabs like crazy, transers all powers quickly. They can eat up the new GTR's awd drivetrain. Here is a video of a local guy with a 700+whp AWD talon vs a 900whp AWD GTR. The talon is auto with 50 shot nitrous just to spool turbo at launch.

Nothing can take these cars on street, less power and still eats him up. He was learning to launch the new turbo and auto, so wait till he gets it going.

How to you plan on attaching the remaining air cleaner assembly to the pipe? Just some tension/hose clamps? If you could let me know how you plan on attaching it, I would be interested if it's a simple set up.

Contrary to what others may think... having a simple, straight intake tube really does improve performance. I did it on my 91 that has a slug of an engine and even that made a difference, let alone a more powerful engine with forced induction!

As I said before, he already has a pre-cut at [2.75 x 6 Aluminum Pipe undercut ends universal intercooler 1/8 inch wall 3mm] that I asked to be cut slightly shorter to [2.75 x 5.625] with the same undercut.

For the hose, if you research ISR mod, there are instructions on how to re-route the hose.

I don't plan to get into that argument whether it boosts performance, but I am doing it purely for my pleasure. It's a cheap mod and I am also doing deck plate and a borla muffler for an overall sound upgrade. If I get few extra hps, it is an added plus.
