It's decision time....

Heloo to all, this is my first post on here. I am posting because I am looking for your opinion on my current situation. I have a stage 2 Audi S4 right now, and it is one hell of a car. I can't really think of anything more I could ask for as far as a sedan goes. But, unfortunately I am starting to think that it might be in my best interest to move on to something a bit more practical.
So I guess what I'm really asking is, as a day to day car how do you guys feel the 4th gen 4runner performs. Gas mileage isnt too much of an issue, because even the v8 runner gets better mileage than the s4. I am headed off to school in the fall, and as much as I'd love to keep the audi, it is just too impractical. However, I may still end up keeping it. I'm looking for some input here as to why I should jump ship into the suv world, and whether or not one of your beloved T4R's is a good choice for me.

I'd keep the S4. It's fast and has AWD, so unless you need the room or towing ability of an SUV, why bother?

the s4 is a bit of a princess, and needs alot of attention. I love it to death, but theres something telling me I'd be better off with an suv (preferably a 4runner)

Well, it sounds like you've already got your mind made up.

If that's the case, then a 4Runner is obviously an excellent choice. I think most people here would agree with me, considering that this is a 4Runner forum.

These SUVs have it all-- excellent capability, whether you're into offroading or just want to keep moving in bad weather/snow or whatever gets thrown your way.

They are also ultra-reliable....my own 4Runner has been absolutely bulletproof so far, without the slightest problem.

It depends what kind of suv you are wanting . You referred to it as a car . The are quite a few if not most suv's the size of the 4R that are more car like ride and fit the bill better for your needs , but only you know what your needs are. IMO opinion the 4R , although it does ride smooth on smooth roads as will any vehicle it does ride like a truck. I like that others may not.

I agree that these SUV's are very versatile and can respond to the shopping mall as well as a pretty tough and extremely capable off road vehicle ( with proper equipment ) . They also have a heavy strong frame another thing not found to often anymore . It will get you where you want to go. I go through everything I can with it and love it.

hey thanks for the help. The reason I have been looking into the 4R is because of its truck like characteristics. I'm definitely not interested in a crossover soccer mom mobile, if I'm going to get an suv I want to do it right the first time. But you did answer my question pretty well even though I was somewhat vague as to what I am looking for. I guess I just wanted to know how the 4runner fairs as a daily driver, along with being a very capable off road vehicle.

Mine is my daily driver (25k per year)and I love driving it . Especially with the V8 , nice torque The V6 is the other engine and also goes like hell , can't go wrong with either IMO. Also if you want to get more offroad truck like as you can see on here there are some pretty tough looking 4Runners.

yeah, I have been inspired by the T4ROTM. That truck is gorgeous.
