It's official

After about 2 years of agonizing, and reading v6 vs v8 debates. I finally purchased my 4runner! It's a 2006, Black, Sport Edition, with a v6. Yes, I went with the v6. Trying to decide on which motor was the agonizing part. I'll never pull anything so the v6 is fine. The 6 also passed the Vail pass I-70 altitude test with flying colors!

Does anybody know if the v6 motor has changed at all between 05 and 06? It is much more quiet than the 05, don't know if it's b/c of the thicker windshield glass or what.

Anyway, couldn't be happier! Can't wait to buzz around this weekend!

options are:

Sunroof
JBL
Side curtains
Auto dimming mirror w/compass
DD cargo
Garage Door opener w/Homelink
Rr Spoiler
Daytime Running lights
Tow Hitch
Exhaust Tip
Mats, carpeted and all weather

Congratulations! I bought an 06 Black SR5 last weekend and I've been in love ever since. It really is a great car.

Good luck w/ the black paint - I'll be washing the car this weekend in the 40' weather.

I know, black paint. It's my first black car, but it just looked so good sitting there! Here in Denver the roads are slushy mess too. I'm glad to have the all weather mats...

Congrats! Ours are almost identical, even down to the color. Yeah, black is tough to keep clean...but when it is, boy does it look great.

The V6 in my '04 V6 LTD did struggled a bit on I-70 thru Vail, Colorado last summer. Then again, I have the 4spd and you have the 5spd tranny. I would really like to experience the difference between the 4 & 5 spd tranny thru Vail

Congrats on the new truck and good luck with it! There were not changes to the V6 from 2005-2006.

Thanks for the congrats guys!

I didn't think there was a difference in the 05-06 motor. Maybe it's just the thicker windshield? Or, maybe I'm just pumped to be driving a 4Runner!

Titanium would've been fine with me, in fact, that's the color I was looking for. But the black one jumped up and said pick me, pick me.

How's the snowboarding in CA so far this year? Here in sunny CO it has been epic! The best snow I've seen, and most everybody else. Last weekend my friend took her first snowboard lesson in powder! Her first day was a powder day! I can't wait for this weekend, sunny sky's, mountains, snowboarding, and driving my 4Runner!

As far as I know Toyota does not sell V6 Sport Edition in Colorado.

At least that waht I was told when buying my 2004 Sport.

You bough your 4Runner in Colorado, I assume?

I did, hmbrown.com. They're an auto broker in Denver CO. You can search their "off site inventory" and see some of the 4Runners they can get their hands on. I got the car for $600. under invoice with current 1k rebate. The broker took $400. If anybody is in the Denver or Rocky Mtn region and would like a good new car contact let me know.
