I just remembered a guy who had a sort of toyota graveyard going on at his shop so I figured I needed to get a hold of him to see what parts I could score. He bought a truck from me years ago and I remember him having a ton of trucks and 4runners. Well he apparently was advertising some parts online a few years back and some fellas from Guatemala came and bought everything he had to do with Toyotas. They are shipping them to Guatemala and making a fortune off of them. And he said they are all over the country doing this. Sucks for us. Making parts harder to come by. WE MUST STOP THIS!!!

I had to forcefully stop a guatemalan from taking stuff from my part out truck.

He showed up when I wasnt home and tried to take things. Thankfully he was found out and stopped.

I ended up yelling at him when I next saw him and told him to never come back again.

He showed up a few more times and I almost called immigration.

Filthy mother ****er... yes they send all the parts back. They want everything for cents here, too.

When my '86 got stolen, the cops found it in a graveyard of other early Yotas and Nissans waiting to get trucked to Texas. There they strip them and send containers full of parts to points south. The same goons have spies at all the local junkyards, its crazy rare to see a truck with anything valuable on it. They have all the good stuff within hours.

Growing up my dad had a really nice 1st gen. It was stolen from in front of the house. So he got another one. It too was stolen a few years later. Supposedly there were car thief crews looking specifically for the 80s model 4x4 Toyotas to send south. I keep telling myself that it wont happen to me but Im always sketched out wherever I park. Nowhere is safe.

Wow this is crazy. He told me stuff was getting stolen left and right so he pretty much just gave it to the guy for next to nothing to stop all the headache. It's a shame, I know we are the land of opportunities but I'm pretty sure that's not what it means.

I had 8 yotas outside the shop and had stuff start to come up missing after selling parts to one of the parts guys shipping down south. It stopped after I let my pit and my 45 loose.

I’ve seen old pickups and 4Runners headed south (towards Houston I guessing) here in west Texas. There may be one running truck pulling one or two junkers. All I’ve seen have also been loaded down with parts. I’ve also seen them in the back of bobtail moving trucks (doors won't close becuase they stick out the back).

I always pass a fair number of these “Toyota Convoys” Anytime I make the drive towards south Texas.
