Alright, it's time for you all to do your civil (T4R.ORG) duty, and vote! It's time for all of you to vote for................What Tail lights I should get! lol!

I have narrowed it down to a few choices, but I'm having issues deciding what I want!

First, and most economical choice....OEM 2001 - 2002 stock lights:

I've toying with the idea of these, mainly because I like that they are stock, yet an upgrade for me.

Second, are the 2001 - 2002 style with LED's:

I like these, because when not in use, they look like a stock upgrade, but with a little something on the side.

Third, are the LED Chrome smoked ones like 8SM:

I like these, because they look a little more classy than some of the custom lights, and don't look too ricey.

One thing I want you all to keep in mind, is I'm looking to go with a "OEM +" theme with my truck. I want it to look like Toyota decided to make a TRD Edition 4Runner, and used all the coolest OEM stuff on it....(I'm getting there slowly).

So here you go, place your votes, and chose your "CANDIDATE"! LOL!

I like the smoked black and chrome ones becuase that's what I have and I really like them. But on a truck the color of yours, the OEM colors look way better.

Voted for 01-02 LED

I also vote for the 2nd option. If you're going for the OEM look, I think that's perfect.

Option 2, no contest. Still an upgraded stock look but with the updated and upgraded performance of LEDs.
Looks like this voting will be a landslide victory for option 2 haha

Huge price difference? Its like $30 difference!?

I'd go with the normal OEM style only cause I have no idea what I would do if the LED's went out... are they simple to replace like a single bulb?

Nope.

I don't think a consumer can really service them, at least not easily.

My vote goes to #2 which IMO would look fantastic on your rig.

Good luck Fight either way you go it will only enhance an already tight rig

Regards......8sm

** I've had problems with mine after 6mons, make certain you're aware of the replacement policy it is exspensive **

I knew this was a tailight thread before i clicked on it. If you know of a set of 01's for sale then get them, the LED's i know a few members have issues with and tailights aren't something i want to fail on me, thats safety as with those you cant just run to the auto parts store and get replacements. Plus the LED's are double** the price. Granted they do look cooler when they are on, you will likely never see them when they are on and they look identical to the more reliable easy to fix OEM lights that are half the price.

You see, the shipping to Canada, the LED's would run me another $50.00. And seeing as though I would never get to see the LED's in action, I'm thinking it might be a $50.00 waste of money?? Sure other drivers would see them, but I'd rather get more enjoyment out of something than some stranger looking at my rig.....Does this make any sense??

Aside from what I said above, I'd have to agree with you and John.....I'm not entirely sold on the reliability aspect of LED's, and since I'd most likely have to pay for the seller to ship me a replacement.....I'm thinking it would end up being far to expensive for the benefit.

I honestly like the look of the 2001 - 2002 OEM's.....just thought the L.E.D's might be another good option. Judging from most of your responses....they are well liked, however, some have expressed concerns with bulb replacement.....something I'm rather concerned about.....

It's interesting to hear all of your thoughts on this subject.....so if any of you have any more input to contribute.....PLEASE do so! :)

Sounds to me then that the best option would be the 01-02 OEM's.
