Came up empty on my search...

Where do you guys place the floor jack to lift up the front end of your 4Runner? Is there a spot to place it and lift both front wheels off the ground?

For the rear, I can place it under the diff pumpkin.

What I ususally do is to jack up one side and secure a jack stand there. Then jack the other side up and secure a jack stand there. Then I place the floor jack on the first crossmember from the front of the vehicle. Can never be too save.

I saw the tire shop jack up my uncle's Odyssey by the lower control arms, but I wasn't too sure if that's a good idea on the 4R.

I take it, you just use frame rails where the factory bottle jack would go. Whenever possible, I always leave the jack there as well. (I lower the vehicle onto the stands and then raise the jack so it makes contact with the vehicle, while all the weight are on the stands with the jack as a safety precaution.)

I use the lower control arms on my '03 and haven't had any problems. Doesn't make it right but it's what I use.

Once I get each side I put a jack stand under it. As others have already stated, I too use the floor jack as extra safety, just in case.
