Yeah I make the trip to the column and eaither seaside or long beach every new years kind of a tradition haha.

Its my instant 15hp adder haha jk the PO had it on there it lights up purple, I'm to lazy to take it off and it gets people asking questions, when I do my exhuast system its going bye bye

I guess I lied haha I got another update that has nothing to do with the scan guage.
my gpa gave me his old hella 500 lights and we decided to mount them up for fun i dont think they look that bad.

Very cool, Seaside has a pretty good show. I grew up right there by the Astoria Golf and Country Club between Seaside and Astoria. Out in Surf Pines. We used to drive down the beach to the Gearhart area and watch the fireworks from there... Much less of a crowd, much fewer fights and beligerent tourists. Good times.

As for that exhaust tip. Purple? Really? That's awesome.

Haha heck yeah not sure why someone would spend money on it but whatever floats there boat.

Not sure the names of the beaches but one of my favorite things to do is drive down.the beach from the vehicle access area right before seaside and drive all the way to the jetty. I have a pic of my first Gen by my favorite sunken ship somewhere haha.

Running boards already removed one of the first things I did.
And I would say James Dean all the way! But I'm a little biased as not only was he a car guy James Dean it is my real name haha. However I'm not addicted to speed(drug or racing haha)

So got under the truck today because I started hearing a clunk, sure enough shock is toast. Question to whoever actually reads this.
What would you do if you where already building a front axle to throw under your rig in a year or so but wanted a little lift now? I was thinking 99 springs and ome shocks? Or is there a better option. Not looking to go to big since I just purchased new tires in a 265/70 or 75? flavor(forget what one) and figure a 3" will make the tires look tiney I was figuring 1-1.5" would be fine.

Went on a little snow run last weekend with another t4r 2000 3rz on 31 duratracs(off my old first Gen) and my 98 with 265/75s.

We went up 54 as far as we could, broke trail for about a mile and a half before it got to deep for me. In one of these pics you can see the snow up to my door and some on the hood was pushing it pretty good.

Small weekend update.
The 26th was my birthday whoohoo! Got to have lots of fun the last few days with the runner, Saturday went on another snow run with a jeep Rubicon on 33s that 00 4runner and a chev yukon, had a blast went further then the Rubicon could!
Then today a few buddies and I went to sand lake to ride for the day saw a few nice runner there and another on my way home.
Three trip today made me realize I need to really fix my suspention. So i think I am going to go with the tundras up front home made drop bracket for the rear out boarded shocks and have a guy who said he would give me a sweet deal on toytec super flex spings. Yay or nay?
Here's a pic of how saggy my runner is and I did stop at the scales on the way home, trailer weighed 2150 and runner weighed 5500 with the weight of the trailer tounge and 3 bigger guys with all our rain and riding gear.

Try flipping your hitch, take the ball off and turn it over raising your ball 2.5" or so. This will take some of the tounge weight off your rearend and put some of it back onto the trailer. Trailers need to be balanced out. Hard to fuel up those quads?

Thanks for the tip the rear shocks are pretty toast though. And my buddy knows how to load a trailer(truck driver)it was just to much work to take the sides off.
We run the bikes empty and just fill the race cans up when we want to ride.

Thanks. Do you or anyone else who might be reading this have any experience with the super flex springs?
Won't have a aftermarket bumper on there for awhile but do tow like this every now and then.

Man, I don't know anything about the super flex, but it seemed a bit much for me. My 890's are supple and have good road manners and can flex out. Maybe someone else can chime in... I know that there are some concerns about having more travel in your shock than in your spring, which it seems that the super flex may take care of....

Personally, I would plan a lift around your front coilovers... Rear Coils are cheap compared to the front end side of things.

Maybe someone with some knowledge can actually step in....

Just hit the 285k mark and I think its time for some much needed maintenance.
On the table of stuff to do I think is
Timing belt water pump
Front/rear wheel bearings, seals(not sure if this has ever been done)
Drive shaft ujoints (hoping gets rid of the hmmm I get coasting down the road)
Tundra brake upgrade(brakes are at about 30/50)
Rack bushings
Transmission flush/filter change and install my b&m cooler
Coil packs(get a random miss fire on cylinder 2 now and again)
O2 sensors
Motor oil and filter
Valve cover seals
Throttle body O mod(might as well)
Vacuum hoses replaced(a lot are cracked and brittle)
Get injectors tested/cleaned
Radiator flush/new hoses


I'm sure there are some things that wouldn't really be worth doing now but figure I'll spoil the runner before money comes to a complete stop. And to make it safer for the new addition coming soon.
If you can think of anything else that should be done or shouldn't waste my time doing let me know.

Speaker upgrade!
So iv had a bunch of stereo stuff laying around and decided to sell it and buy the correct stuff for my new 4rnr.
The fronts are a component set of hertz energy and the rear are 2way hertz energy. The headunit is one I got for my first gen and yanked it out before I sold it, its a jvc mechless design without CD player.
Next speaker project is to build a cargo storage system with custom sub and amp enclosure.

To bad your not in Vancouver Washington my stereo place is selling all energy component sets for 30% off and if ya took me with ya it would turn into 40% haha.
