Jaos Center Protector w/ Lights

I was able to mount the Jaos H4 lights onto my CP yesterday evening, but it was too dark to take pics with any available light. After I came home from work today, I snapped a few shots of the setup.

Truck looks GREAT! Nice work. Are those fog or driving lights? I like the autobra thingy too- definitely a bit different, and personality is nice.
 
Ahh sweet dude, lights look good! So the JAOS is already drilled for light mounts right? I think I saw it on another pic, but wasn't sure.

Yup, the Jaos is predrilled for the lights. I still need to properly align the lights, but that'll have to be tomorrow or a later day. They're pointing too low right now, but when I was installing them, I wanted to error on the side of too low rather than too high.

Thanks. They're driving lights and can do either high beams or low beams. I don't really plan on using them in normal situations though. I doubt they are legal to be used as headlights. The main function was to add a bit more light when offroading.... and of course for looks. Otherwise the CP would look kind of awkward.

I think I am one of very few members here who use the bra, but I love that sucker. It really does help protect the front end, and I think it helps reduce the bling factor of the Jaos stuff. It's really easy to maintain the front end mask without the Jaos stuff..... just wash the truck weekly clean the mask, then reapply, but it's a bit more of a hassle with the Jaos. It's more difficult to put on and take off, but IMO it's still worth it. I'll probably get a new one sometime this summer since my existing one is starting to stretch a bit.

I'm already trying to forget how much it cost me, but it seems to be worth it so far. I don't mind paying a lot of it's for something that's well built and made to last. We'll see how this gear stands the test of time.
 
The light bar and lights look KILLER!


As for the hood bra....I'm going to be perfectly honest, after working in a detail shop for 4 years and a dealership for 2, I have yet to see a hood bra that didn't cause more damage than it prevented.....but if it works for you, more power to ya I guess :)

I think most people with the bras just don't maintain them. I wash and wax the front end weekly, and take it off whenever it rains. The rock chips were adding up big time, especially on longer trips out to the desert. I stopped getting them right away as soon as I started using the bra. I have some small rips and tears in it from pieces of debris that would have otherwise hit the paint. I know I'll need to get the front end repainted eventually anyways, but this has definitely helped so far. I take a close look at the front end every time I wash, and I haven't seen any issues yet.

Well if you're on top of the maintenence/cleaning that much, I would assume it will do its job.....the problems usually start because most people just put it on their car and take it off 5 years later hehe
 
I think the package with the center protector in it weighed 38lbs. I wouldn't imagine that the box weighed too much, so I would say it weighs at least 35lbs. Very sturdy.
 
I opted not to get the bra and go with the Canadian Bug shield. I had a car with a water based paint a couple of years ago and I was on top of the waxing etc and it still faded.
 
That looks F'in sweet! If I had seen that before ordering mine, I may have forked over the extra dough. Mainly because there are limited light options for the T&H. I like the location, look, and size of yours. Don't think I could have talked myself into the JAOS lights too, as they cost as much as my T&H bull bar (I think). Thanks for sharing your pics.

Thanks! I'm pretty stoaked with how it turned out. The Jaos stuff sure isn't cheap, but I'm fine with that. I'm looking forward to getting a bit of a lift, and some better tires. I'll wait till the Dunlops wear out a bit more before I start that phase.
 
I finally had the time to properly align the lights. I can't wait to take these babies offroad. I drove down my street with them on and I must say I was impressed. Then I switched both the regular headlights and the Jaos lights to the high beams, and they sure put out a lot of light! Too bad these babies aren't street legal. :-)

How do you like the JAOS lights so far? Have you used them "on-road" at all?

I have the JAOS center protector as well and am considering the JAOS lights - among others.

I would also like to use my auxiliary lights for on-road as well but do not want to blind other drivers or attract the attention of my local law enforcement.

I really like the Jaos lights so far. They are very easy to install, and the remote control is pretty cool..... keeps the interior looking 100% stock. I do not use these on road. It wouldn't be legal. I usually turn them on at night when on private property, but I definitely don't use them on-road. I have them aimed to match the height of the normal headlights. Even at that though, they point pretty high.

I've heard that you do need to have some covers for the lights when driving onroad, so I may get those --- if even just to help keep them clean.
