Javelin's Build Thread

Update!

Just dropped my rig off at Tri County Gear.

Going with 4.56 front and rear with an ARB locker.

I should have it back in my possession by friday.

That sucks! Did you have it done at a reputable shop? Hopefully they'll cover all of your expenses and get you back on the road quickly!

Yes very reputable. Tri county gear.

Got my Jeep done there. Very good work. They're covering everything even the tow back.

Putting my money on part failure.

No, Motives

Im going to tell them to open the rear too. Double check. better safe than sorry.

I'm kind of intrigued to see what failed. Seems like one of those "one in a million" stories...

just rear.

Power is AMAZING. It holds gear and keeps me in the powerband.

My gas mileage should get better in the city. No more aggressive downshifts to get up hills.

UPDATE!

Just got a call from the owner at Tri county gear. Apparently the mechanic didn't tighten the passenger side caliper down tight enough when reassembling everything. As I was driving the caliper moved up and jammed my right wheel. Which caused me to completely stop moving.

I actually heard a bolt fall out before everything happened.

The owner is personally driving my truck to back to me tomorrow morning. ;)

oh snap, as a tech i hate it when this sort of thing happens, i once left a drain plug lose on a oil pan(was doing a lot more than an oil change on the car and just over looked it). fortunately the plug fell out while i was out test driving it on my final inspection... i heard the plug fall out and bounce off the ground up into the belly pan of the car several times -i didnt know what it was at the time but knew something had happened so i started watching all my guages and checking my mirrors, notices the streak in the road and just as i was about to pull over the low oil level light came on... no harm done, and it happened to me not the customer fortunately but it could of been much worse. i had one of the other techs bring me a new plug and some oil. i feel bad for the tech cause i know how sometimes the simple things can get over looked, just glad it wasnt too serious and no one got hurt.

btw i just read through your build thread and love what you have done to your rig its nice and clean man! great taste :thumb3:

I also Installed a USA-SPEC Ipod Adapter. Plugs right into the back of the factory radio. I ran the cord into that small cubby in front of the shifter. Now I can listen to Mp3s!!!:biggrin2:
