Got a hold of this gem in 2012. “Ruby” had 110k miles on her. She is a 2001 SR5 4WD 4Runner. Truck had not been treated all that well by its previous owners. It had multiple dings, scratches, dent, and clear coat fade all over. This truck has seen a complete makeover. It has since had both bumpers replaced, both fenders replaced, body repainted, and hood replaced. Still needs to be upholstered. She currently has 181k on the odometer and is my DD. Here is a synopsis of what I have tinkered with so far:

Exterior

• Salsa Pearl/Metallic Paint Job
• Satoshi grille with Toyota devil horns
• Satin black front and rear bumper
• Tinted Clear turn signals
• Clear corners
• 20% tinted front windows
• Matte black Level 8 MK6’s 16x8 -10 offset
• Blacked out ‘Surf and SSR-G’ emblems
• Complete Black SR5 skinny flares
• Rola roof rack with extension, custom mounted to factory roof tracks
• Black OEM housed retrofits
• OEM Sport hood
• Tacoma ARB front bumper

Interior

• WeatherTech’s (front, rear, trunk)
• 12" Kicker Sub and hidden(stock storage hole in right rear trunk) 500 Watt Kicker amp
• Pioneer Head Unit
• Reupholsted with added cushions for arm rests front/back seats
• LED interior dome lights
• Cheap @$$ mossy oak seat covers for now
• Craftsman 5 drawer tool box/husky tool bag in rear

Performance

• 231 TBU All OEM parts (rotors, calibers, pads) Painted black
• B&M Transcooler
• 265/75/16 BFG Rugged Terrains Load E
• Tundra Coils up front(2nd perch), 906s in rear, and Bilstein 5100s all around

Major Maintenance

• OEM LBJ’s – replaced at 150k
• Valve Cover Gaskets – replaced at 160k
• Denso Radiator – replaced at 180k
• Rear axle seal – replaced at 140k

To Do/Wishlist

• Replace 02 sensors
• Black housing corner lights – ordered!
• Roof rack that will support rooftop tent (Rocky Mountain Racks pref.)
• Rooftop tent (CVT)
• Replace exhaust system with catback Borla system
• Wet Okoie seat covers
• Tint windshield
• Replace carpet/ headliner
• Burtman rear spoiler
• ARB front bumper
• Sliders – to combat the urban assault of door dings on my truck!
• 890’s in the rear- 906s are not supporting the junk in my trunk adequately
• Air compressor in spare tire compartment
• Shrockworks front skid

Thanks, I actually painted em those TRD's. I used those keychain a that guys selling in the classifieds as a stencil and sprayed over it to make the TRD. I wanted red calipers but the red wouldn't have matches my truck and burgundy calipers would look weird.

Nothing serious done. Added some 4wd Badges where the limited badges would go for an OEM look, and added some Surf Badges to the hatch for some JDM pizazz haha. Also replaced my wheels about 2 months back. I love the inch I gained in width from them.

Also got all my lift parts in a couple weeks ago. I am just procrastinating on install. TRD w/ Billies up front and OME 906 w/ Billies in the back. Contemplating on adding a diff drop for the helluva it. Also had to fix a rear seal and replace my brakes shoes this month.

Installed my lift. Just waiting on weather to cooperate so I can get some good pictures of it. I can definitely feel the difference. Large bumps are more (squishy?), but on-road characteristics are real smooth. I don't feel half the blemishes in the road anymore.

How much lift are you running?

I'd say I gained 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches. Bout a 1/4 inch rake in the back

Next on the list install my rack, finish my hood project, and get some sliders. Probably not in that order. I'll use the sliders mainly as parking lot protection. With a new paint job comes stress from door dings and rocks From the highway

Been making quite a few changes lately. Sold my taillight guards and grille guard. I was looking for a cleaner look. Added a rola roof rack extended with custom mounts. Added black LED taillights and tinted them a little. Blacked out my front blinkers for a cleaner look on my front bumper. I also added front Dring mounts and D rings up front.

Here's about the best shot I have with my roof rack installed and geared up ready for camping. Took my girlfriend/fiancé camping for her first time with me and asked her to marry me while I was there.
