JBL amp interface options

I'm fixing to pull the factory nav and put in a kenwood nav unit. Is the rp4.2-ty11 the new preferred jbl interface or should I go with a tyto-01 for the interface and a maestro sw for steering controls?

It's a 2004 Limited, so I can't use the maestro rr, which would have been awesome to have.

I know the rp4.2-ty11 has the 6v out I need for the factory reverse camera and it would be a single module to install instead of 2, but I haven't seen much about it's reliability. Any thoughts?

I used the rp4 in my 04 sport. Didn't work until the last update came out last month. This thing is huge too. There is not a lot of room behind a double din. I would avoid it if possible.

You'd probably have to extend the wiring to reach that far. I was able to fit mine to the right of the radio tucked behind an AC vent.

Reliability and sound quality are actually pretty good from my perspective, but be sure to update the firmware on it before installing.

i put mine under the radio so i can remove the thermostat and update without taking out the whole console.
fitment is very tight!!!

I received my RP4.2-ty11 the other day. The documentation is lacking, the email and phone support are worthless, but with a little planning, wire cutting, and solder to tame that monstrosity of a harness, I think it will work out just fine. Waiting on parts from overseas to retain the factory reverse camera and parking break/reverse connections without having to cut or tap any factory wires.

Still haven't determined if the rear outputs go anywhere. It appears only the front inputs are being sent to the amp, and the amp alters to create fade and balance. If that is the case, then zones won't work with my Kenwood and nav sounds will be output to the rears as well. Can anyone verify if that is the case?
