Need to find a great replacement for my 4runner..... JBL 10 speaker system with 6 disc changer..... And need something that will alllow me to use my steering wheel controls etc... Need help

If you decide to go with an aftermarket head unit, which I recommend doing, you can get an extra device which will allow you to use the steering wheel controls.

I'm no expert on this, but I believe that the stock head units do not hook up to a JBL system. I found this out when I had trouble with my JBL with 5 or 6 disc changer built in -- I wanted to put one in without the complications of the changer, which I don't need. I was told the non-JBL won't fit my JBL system.
Please advise us what you end up getting -- I expect to have to replace my OEM JBL head unit sometime, as it is troublesome.

Crutchfield has the gear and tech assist to work thru the upgrade. Probably should replace hu and amp same time. It can be made to work only hu but cumbersome, crutchfield tech assist details challenges.
