So today i was unfortunate to have my 4runner stop giving any audio. I was pulling into get gas and the audio dimmed as if i was getting a call (i was using the aux). Didn't look at my phone until i finished getting gas. When I was done I realized it wasn't a call and that my head unit volume control and steering wheel control stopped working.
- I've never messed with wiring since I am not confident in doing so. No new electronics have ever been installed to give someone a reason to touch my wiring either.
- I tried what other have done. Restart the vehicle multiple times, changed the radio fuse, and flicked the key to start when running to reset the head unit and still nothing.
- Took it to a dealer I have decent confidence in and they were unable to determine the problem. They requested I drop off the 4runner next week and take a loaner car giving their audio specialists a chance to do a thorough investigation.
I've searched online and the forums to see if anybody had this issue resolved since it seems common, but usually people are lucky enough to get it working after a restart.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I know one guy hear had a blown amp and i think that fixed it but he never posted if that fixed his issue. I'm upset I'll be without audio for a week or longer depending on the issue :crybaby::crybaby:
Before I have someone say I might have been bumping it too loud to blow something, i always have the volume at 25-35 out of the full 60+ volume.
