JBL stock radio in non JBL 4Runner ?

Is there any other differences in the stock systems between JBL and non-JBL setups ?>

(Can't imagine what it would be, but thought I better ask)

my '08 has the stock non-JBL head unit

AM/FM/CD Non Sat .....

I found a TOYOTA JBL 6 CD and MP3 player w/SAT controls for a decent price

any reason this would not be a simple plug 'n play setup ?

then my add-on question is: if this HU works with my system, what add on / interface do I need to add SIRIUS ?

I don't want the little add on kit, but something that works with this HU

It won't work. The JBL systems have a separate amplifier and sub in the cargo area behind the side paneling. The plugs are completely different between the JBL and non-JBL units. Youd have to rewire alot in the truck and need more parts to get it to work.

sorry for the late reply. the jbl system is a pain in the neck. I have a 2006 JBL equipped limited and wish it was the regular system because it would actually be easier to upgrade. the JBL uses an amp all the way in the back of the car to power all of the speakers. it is a real pain if you plan on wiring anything new.
