Will this work in my 05 NON-jbl system? Do I need to have some kind of amp that will make this work? I believe I read this somewhere about switching to a 4runner JBL radio...Please enlighten me. I want to stay stock but have slightly better sound. I like how the JBL radios give you control of the mid freq. At least thats how my moms camry is...

actually i have no idea. i just saw it on ebay, but i dont think its there anymore. but i guess for future reference? what would i need to make it work or is it plug and play?

All of the JBL radios use an external amplfier. On the 4th gen 4runners this amp is located on the subwoofer which is mounted behind the passenger side rear quarter panel trim. The front bezel on the head unit you were looking at will not fit through the instrument panel opening without modification. Also the color of the LED backlighting is green and will not match the lamp colors in the rest of the panel. I hope this information will be of some assistance to everyone out there who wants to do this . I learned the hard way!
