Hi, my name is Jason and I’m a 4runner addict.

I had another thread going but thought I’d make a dedicated build thread to chronicle my pursuit of the purple dragon. A little bit of background. I’ve had my 4runner for 9 years, and up until about a month ago I ran her bone stock – took her in to fix a CEL issue and the owner asked if I was interested in a lift kit…and that was it. Nobody really cares what I’m writing (asdf) so on to the meat and potatoes.

Current Mods:
Suspension:
- 2.5” lift
- Bilstein 5100 strut/shocks combo
- Spacer in the rear

Wheels and Tire:
- 265/75/16 Good Year Duratrac
- American Eagle 186 Wheels

Electronics:
- Alpine 9887 head unit
- Focal Utopia 6.5” components
- 12” IDMAX sub
- Phoenix Gold 500.4 amp (powering components in active configuration, i.e., one channel per speaker)
- Phoenix Gold 800.1 amp
- Phoenix Gold line driver
- iPod adapter

Other:
- Weather Tech mats front and back
- Clear corner and bumper (just one side currently ha, got into a minor accident and they replaced one side with OEMs)
- One very sexy driver

Future Mods
- Magnaflow exhaust (most likely 18”)
- Volant intake or deck plate mod
- LED dash, dome/map, license plate lights
- New grille, either Jaos billet (full replacement) or Satoshi grille mod
- Cargo Weather Tech

Without further adieu, the pictures:

What other mods would you suggest? And if price isn't a factor, would you suggest the Satoshi grille mod or the Jaos billet grille?

Your truck is so CLEAN! Digging the wheel/tire combo too. :bigok:

Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, I'm really happy about how she turned out. I'm glad I put the extra effort into sprucing her up versus letting her be a mediocre daily driver.

Sweet truck dude. Best color combo :)

Add a link to your build thread to the Build Thread sticky in the 3rd gen section if you want.

I've got you guys to thank. I perused the forums, studying every thread with green runners and took notes of what you guys did. If you look at my first thread I was contemplating some cheesy 5 spoke rims before I came to my senses. So thank you sir...along with Quicksliver, Fightman, and the other green monsters.

Really nice progression. And you definitely followed some good examples. Some really sick green Runners on here.

I'd choose Satoshi over any billet grill...but that's me. Anyway it appears as if your bumper & corner lenses are different, one side being clear and the other one stock, or is it the angle of the shots?

Yeah I'm leaning toward the Satoshi grill. I like the retro look and it's quite a bit cheaper than the Jaos grill. Then I could put the saved money toward my exhaust, etc.

And you're correct, one side is clear and the other one is stock. I got into a small fender bender and the repair shop only had access to OEM lights. So they put the OEM's on and discounted my deductible to make me whole. I intend to buy new clear corners, bumpers, and rear LED tail lights when I stop being lazy. Thanks for the input.
