JDM 4-Runner

Today I was looking @ japanese owners manual and found that JDM 4R's have POWER folding mirrors. There is a button next to mirror adjuster on drivers door. Press it and mirrors fold in, press it again mirrors are back out. I sure could use the option in local car wash. Is there any way to buy and install the system in good ole USA? Also I found that there is no key fob for remote door opener in JDM 4-R's. Whole remote is in key handle and it fits. There is a road flare mounted under glove compartment, nice touch. I think Japan is holding up on us here.

Once again we get screwed! Bad enough that they get all the great cars anyways (Nissan Skyline R32 among others), but now they are even keeping the small accessories from us!

no thanks...

i can do them myself... in the subaru boards i follow, a dude got them for like $800 (IIRC) or so from a japan parts exporter.

They need them in Japan to navigate the narrow and crowded streets. Can't see them being all that useful in N.A.

Almost got mine riped off by carwash brush the other day. It just happens that those do not brake away in top to bottom direction, therefore quick push of the button would save me from headache. Any way i would love power mirrors.

I'm with TranceKrayz on this. You take your chances with the car washes. Aren't there touch-less washes near you?

I would love to have this option, the space in my garage is so limited, and I'm always hitting my arm on the mirror as I'm trying to walk past the Runner.

Same here, when i do fold them in, i forget to fold them back out when i take the runner out. OMGosh, my mirror! I can't see! Then i have to get out of my car just to fold it back out. Some call me lazy just cause i have an auto start...but i'd call it convience. haha.

Power mirrors could save me the hassle of getting out of my car to push them in when I'm trying to squeeze my 4runner in my one-car garage of my townhouse! I often wonder why they didn't think of this feature?

i would love to get that option on my 4runner... my brother has it on his seqouia limited and its very useful, esp for a big suv like that.

can anyone get those from japan? i wonder if it would be plug and play on the us version.
