Jeep Cherokee on fire

I Lemon Law'd a 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk. Appears they are still having quality control issues. I'm shocked. Not really. 2 wk old Cherokee on fire from Seattle area news.

Jeep used to be such a well made vehicle and dominated the offroad world even in stock form. It's very sad they have lost their way as much as they have. The Cherokee and grand Cherokee of today are just a glorified minivan. The only Jeep worthy of the name today is the Wrangler. Give me an XJ, YJ, TJ, ZJ, any day of the week though. The reason I own my T4R today is because of what Jeep has become and honestly, as much as I loved all my previous Jeeps, I love my 4R also.

As long as it's under warranty, all is good haha. Seriously, this is an extreme example but yet another form of confirmation as to why I went with the 4Runner. No one should have to be dealing with that nonsense at ANY time during their ownership, let alone the 1st month. All the tech/advancement of the vehicle is lost because it's on fire. Ridiculous.

Probably. Regardless, I don't want to own a vehicle that can have those type of issues. Especially one that has that happen in the past...

The new JL is the only true Jeep left IMO. The new Cherokee is another crossover and the Grand Cherokee is driven by middle managers that couldn't afford a Range Rover.

I liked, and miss, my old WJ. The retro fitted quadra-drive axles with the part time T-case gave me lots of traction options depending on the weather/terrain. It was just big enough to be comfy for long road trips but still easy enough to maneuver through a parking garage. I had 2 of them, the first one I had for a long time, it got totaled when it got rear ended by an Accord that was going 40 mph while I was at a stop in traffic. The unibody bent so badly the rear doors wouldn't open and there was a buckle in the roof and floor panels.

The 2nd one was requiring too many repairs and the quality of the aftermarket parts were subpar while OEM parts were NLA. I dumped it and got my 3rd gen runner. I always keep my eye open for a clean '04 WJ in Onyx Green but I know that I'll probably find a 4th gen 'runner before I find another WJ.
