Jesse1983

Just wanted to say hi to the new forum. I'm the new owner of a 2010 black 4Runner, trail ed. this is my 4th Toyota, first SUV. Previously i had a 95.5, 2001, and 2005 Tacoma's. I was a member under the same name at toyotanation, and tacomaworld.

looking forward to helping with mods, learning mods, etc. first off this thing needs lifted. i have my 285 BFG Mud-Terrains from the Taco sitting on black moto metals waiting for a lift. I'm also hoping my TC UCA's fit the runner, they look to be the same, so i'll see soon enough. here is a pic of my tacoma right before trading it, so expect similar soon enough with the runner.

Welcome! I just joined today, and seeing as this is my first ever post I had to say...GO RAVENS!

Where did you pick up your black TE? I just test drove one in Edgewood a week or so ago (it's gone now).

that's pretty funny. I got it at Thompson Toyota, in Edgewood.

was hoping to get a clean pic up, but 27 inches of snow came. 4wd did great, i don't think my lifted taco would have handled the snow better than the runner.

new additions are the moto metals and i blacked out the front toyota emblem.

hi
what kind of wheels and tires on this? looks good

Most of the stuff arrived today. still waiting on the rear shocks. Install may be pushed back too depending on when my damage is getting fixed. Pumped to have these things ready to go though.

Looks good Jesse. Are you going to do the install yourself?I was going to order Icons from Toytec yesterday and they are out of the rear shocks for them too.I think I am going to switch to OME 141N shocks in the rear and run the Icons in the front. Did you find anything out about your TC UCA's on wether they will work. I'm looking at Camburg UCA's?
I was running around all day and forgot to shoot you that bumper cover part number. I will when I get home tonight.

I will definitely do the install myself. With the coils being pre-assembled it takes out the need for a spring compressor, and makes it an easy remove replace for the front. I've never dealt with rear springs before, only leaf packs, and i understand i may need a spring compressor for them, but I may be able to get them on without, I'll find out once i have the rear torn apart.

Doug said my rear shocks should have shipped Monday, so I should have them today or tomorrow. Either way I won't do the install until I have everything, no need to rip the rear apart twice.

There isn't a solid answer out there if my TC arms will fit. They look like they will and that's what I'm going on. So when I install the coils on the front I'll put the arms on too. I'm 99% sure they are the same as my Tacoma, so the TC's will fit and my front suspension will be superbadass (yes that's a word!)

As far as the Camburg's go, I'm not sure if they've been redesigned (i think i remember reading that they were) but back when I was buying arms for the Tacoma the Camburg's were not the arm to go with. A member of a Tacoma forum bought them and had nothing but problems. Once he got and installed the TC's, no problems. You can read the thread here:

Good call on the Icon's. I had a full Icon suspension on my 2001 Tacoma and loved it. I really doubt I'll be doing as much wheeling in this as I did back then, so I couldn't justify the Icon's. And you'll love the OME rear shocks. I had them on my 05 Tacoma and they were awesome. Such a big improvement over the stock billy's.

well took me 10 hours today, but it's all done. the front was no problem, the back was a little difficult. Here is an iphone pic of the final suspension up front. it rides great, feels great, looks great.
