man, that looks amazing. this is why i was lusting after a black for a long time, but ended up going with the SR5 bc im a sucker for the creature comforts, haha.

:boink:

Looking good, Jesse!

Any problems with fitting the 285's? Wheels are 17"? How wide are the wheels? Did you have to slide the front fender forward and do anything to the mudflaps to fit? I want to get ATX Artillery wheels, 17X9.

Is the front logo attached only by adhesive? Any special trick to removing it safely?

thanks for all the comments guys, I'm very happy it's now set up the way I wanted it.

Egstyle - once the lift is on there were no problems fitting the 285's. At full lock i was rubbing the front mudflap. i removed them for now, and I'm not sure if i'll trim them like harper did, or leave them off altogether. no rubbing in the front, yet. My wheels are 17, by 9 I think (I bought them like 3 years ago and just can't remember). No adhesive on the front logo, it clips in place. reach in from the inside and you can release it.

4runner looks good!! My trail is showing up tomorrow. Can't wait!! Would 16" rims fit the 4runner?
Thanks,
Nathan

Im sure it has been asked, but now that you have had the lift on for a few days, how is it? How much did the ride quality change? MPG change? Im very close to lifting mine and wondering if I am doing the full or just the level lift.

the ride quality has changed. i can really feel the nubs of the tires at low speed, but keep in mind they are pretty aggressive tires. I was averaging about 18-19 mpg on the highway, at an average speed of 80. Since the lift I've kind of stopped driving it on the highway as much, but when I did i averaged ~16, at an average speed of 65-70. Also before the lift and tires, when driving with the "eco" indicator on, it would normally be off when running through first gear (on city streets) and come on in second. Now the truck runs through first and second and the light won't come on until i hit third. I assume this is because the engine is working harder to move those bigger, heavier tires.

The ride is not "harsh" by far. When i first lifted my Tacoma 3" there were immediate problems. problems such as vibrations, wandering, etc. This 4Runner was fine in those regards. I don't know what a lift like this would feel like without replacing the UCA's at the same time, I was fortunate that my set fit. Also, my mpg didn't take as big of a hit as i thought they would. I haven't done a manual calculation, I'm relying on the displayed mpg, which certainly could be off due to larger tires. maybe next fill up i'll calculate it manually.

So i am doing my lift this friday, and I just have one question. Did you do anything with the KDSS of did you just jack it up and go ahead with all work.

Thank you sir, I think that is the only thing I am still unsure about for the lift on friday.

I did nothing with the KDSS. Pulled parts off and hoped for the best. I was a little worried about what may happen, but rest assured, everything was fine.

Lookin Good Jesse!
The red really stands out!
Good except for that dang Ravens decal:roadkill:

Ravens might have a chance this year with Big Ben the Molestor suspended.:cry2:
NOT!:biggrin2:

What type of paint did you end up going with for the rear emblems? They seem to match nicely. :thumb3:

I want to say Krylon Fusion, but I really can't remember. I just used whatever black I had in the garage. My technique for this plastic has been to sand the surface, paint a few coats, then lightly sand again, then a few more coats.

so you didnt pull any of the emblems off you just left everything on there, taped around the letters sanded painted, sanded painted?

Molester is too kind of a word for a rapist.

We did really well in the draft and with off-season moves, so we will be just fine. At the very least we will do better then Pitt this season, AGAIN :wink2:
