Hey neighbor! Hard to believe this great looking ride is just across the river. I'll have to come over sometime and check it out for inspirations.

I just picked up my first T4R a few weeks ago and should be hitting 1K miles today. I absolutely love it and can see myself having a T4R for many years to come.

Drop me a line sometime. Would love to get offroad with my new toy and try out some local trails.

Very nice job, Jesse! All these pictures makes me want to go buy a black TE, fix up like yours, then move my SR5 beige interior into the TE. Anyone interested in a used SR5 with TE interior? :)

thanks. it technically isn't legal. but i left the brake lights untouched, meaning they are still as bright as stock. Also, I used VHT nightshade which is a transparent paint, so the reverse and turn signals still shine through.

thanks all. I am very happy with the final product. it took a lot of light coats and wet sanding to get the finish i wanted, and i think it was worth it. plus i still have my TE tails untouched in the garage when it comes time to trade in. Plus I found these tails on eBay, separate auctions. The first one i won for $1.00 and $15 shipping, the second was $50 shipped, not bad for a set.

thanks Gary. Next up is a custom grill. I have everything i need and I'll be starting this weekend.
 
how many coats of night shade did you use? i want to use 2 max on my whold tail light. i also might just buy the transparent stickers that i found on ebay.

I think I did three coats. But I wetsanded between each coat so it took it down you know. i intended to make it lighter but if you go too light you can see spots in the coat. it's a fun project though. I would definitely do that before any film.

That has to be one best and toughest looking vehicles I have ever seen :thumb3:

Not only awesome looks - but excellent build quality, reliability, and true off-road capability - a beast for sure, simply incredible!

Well the extra grill I got on eBay turned out to be damaged. So that kinda slowed my desire to begin. The seller let me keep it for free but knowing I won't put it on my truck takes some fun away. We will see though.

Ah, that sucks. I just bought a factory grill off of ebay myself, I'm gonna tackle the mod once I get some free time.

Awesome, thanks for the pics! Looks amazing! Are they from the iphone 4?

As per your pics, it doesn't look like the upper grill deviates too much from the lower grill, but is it really noticeable in person? If it is, I'll order both in one shot to have it match. The satoshi looks to match the hoodscoop more than the bottom though.

Also, I guess you purhcased an extra grill to keep your old one intact? I searched ebay a few days ago and couldnt find one.
