JLRSR5 Build

Quick shot of my brothers 3rd gen and mine. We installed his Shrockworks bumper last weekend. The hardest part was lining up the dang thing and drilling holes with drills running out of juice = no fun. But glad to be able to have some quality time with my brother. Here in a few weeks we will be installing his OME/toytec lift.

Yeah, if I could have reused mine I would have, if that was an option. I bought kyb top mounts off of amazon, they weren't too expensive. KYB SM5640 is the part number if you need them.

I'm changing some things up this next weekend, bought the same ones. My factory are prob fine, but better to have some just incase. I have seen some that get worn on the inside shaft, thought maybe I have this and could be part of the front end noise.

You like yours everything normal?

Yes, so far everything is great with mine, I like them. When you install them just make sure the recessed parts are where the stud heads line up. My driver side is slightly off and I haven't wanted to go back and fix it. Lol

But yeah so far so good. Look good as OEM quality.

Cvj

Just got CVJ axles put in. Pleased with the outcome. Surprised how close some of the passenger outboard fins are, but think it'll be fine.

MJT Satoshi grill

Just installed my MJT satoshi grill painted matte black. Pleased with how it turned out and the solid product that MJT 4runner grills makes. I have an emblem idea in mind I'm going to tackle at a later date.

Now I need to clean my headlights.:AK47: which is a fighting battle, just did them about a year ago.

TRD emblem.

Finally was able to complete my satoshi grill with the TRD emblem installed.

There were not many TRD emblems to choose from but thankful I found this one. Shout out to Diaz Fabrication for the awesome TRD emblem. He is over on tacomaworld and has a lot of really neat emblems for sale on his website.

Added new Moog End Links today that are the 2nd gen 4runner end links which are about 1" longer than stock. Feels much better with cornering now, but might just be a placebo affect. :becky: The angle is def. much better and looks close to what it is stock.

Added the smokers package for the center console in order to add another charging port via USB. Now just have to figure out what to do with the ashtray spot since I don't smoke and my phone is too large to sit in it.

Much needed upgrade for extra power in my opinion.

Have been busy the last two weekends helping my brother do some nice upgrades to his 3rd gen. With a help of a good friend we installed his lift, new OEM LBJ's, panhard drop bar bracket, and differential drop in 5 hours. Getting the toytec superflex coils in the back drivers side was interesting but we finally muscled it in. Here are some pics of both trucks.

3rd gen specs:
-OME 883 coils w/ OME sport-90004 shocks
-Toytec Superflex Rear Coils 024RCB
-Bilstein 5100 Rear long travel shocks
-Tires: Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3W 285/75r16

Nemo Tunnel

Took a trip to a place I grew up fishing near the Obed River, Nemo Tunnel. It's an abandon train tunnel. Pretty awesome place and a fun trail ride with my brother and a good friend.

Black headlight mod and headlights restored!

What a headache. So blacked the lights out by baking them apart which was pretty straight forward. Then came the headlight restore.

I've restored them before but read you can use aerosol clear coat to make it last longer. Well what a mistake. Not sure what I didn't wrong but the clear coat looked horrible!! Even with lightly spraying.

So essentially had to start over and sand them down again and start from scratch. They aren't 100% perfect, but I'll take it.

BHLM details: Used a satin black for the chrome, very pleased with this. I also hated that most BHLM the clear corner on the outside just stuck out to me, so I purchased VHT nightshade and removed the orange reflector and sprayed 2 very light coats to give the clear corner piece a smoked look, I then reattached the orange reflector b/c I like the orange/black contrast.

Love you truck man... I just picked up an '06 G Gray SR5 and getting the itch to mod after seeing yours!

I really want the tubular roof rails that you have... Do you know where you got them???

Great job!

Thanks man! And these are the sport 4runner roof rails. I've got a sport model so they came stock. Sometimes if you watch the classifieds section people well them. Or watch Craigslist. Goodluck with the build, welcome to the 4th gen world!
