Joshua Tree

Has anyone been to Joshua Tree National park lately? We're heading out there in a couple of weeks, going to do the trails in the park as well as some in the BLM land around it.
Any pointers or must see places? We'll be down to Salton Sea too.

Thanks in advance.

Well, we spent all of last week at either Mojave National Preserve, Joshua Tree National Park or around Orocopia Mountains Wilderness. I have to say that outside of the high winds on Monday and Tuesday, there is a ton of offroading to do out there.
The only downside is it seems like it was, "take the road grader out on the back roads week" and we were constantly coming upon graded sections of these off road trails. Not to say that we didn't have some fun and challenges but still.
In Mojave, we did parts of the Mojave road, (we are planning on doing the entire road in a couple months, 160 miles), Aiken mine road, Caruthers canyon, New York and a couple of others. Great trails, Mojave Mailbox was cool to see, even for a LNT and TL trainer like I am.
Joshua Tree, had Berdoo road, (graded for the first couple of miles) to the park boundary, Black Eagle Mine, where I couldn't camp, so I didn't go too far and Geology tour which is almost two wheel territory.
My favorite was Red Jeep Canyon trail in the Orocopia Mountains, 17 miles of either good or plain fun trail. I dropped my trailer for this one, since I was coming back. The views were just wonderful.
