He actually loves to hit the trails with. ( I even talked him out of wanting a jeep!) But he wants to have the whole family go to raging waters.

HAHAHAHA!!! I'm not saying I'm gonna go up the hill in reverse ...instead of running the trail west to east I'm gonna run our entire planned run east to west so I will be going down the hill sections so I can see all of them without any worries . Lol luv ya brotha

I knew exactly what you meant, and coming from that direction there's till a big ass hill with a rock in the middle of it that's likely to pose a problem, hahah.

My house is always open for a mod day. No pool but much cooler that 119 and 100 deg. We can always hose you down to cool off! LOL

Sounds like a great run but it seems us 2wd's hold the rest back. I don't want to be a burden. But if the 4wd's have patience then that's so cool of them!!

Otay Truck Trail is a glorified dirt road so not much of a need for the locker but at least you can get out for a couple hours and the view of the lake and the ocean from the top is amazing!

Here are a few pics from when I did this run with [MENTION=84642]Quatre Coureur[/MENTION] a couple years ago.
The first pic. is one of the hill climbs. This isn't the hill climb that [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION] didn't include in his video. This one is probably the 2nd or 3rd big hill climb.
The 2nd pic. leads into the last 4 pics. This section (last 4 pics)will probably need some spotting. 2wd defiantly will need to get towed through this section. What makes this section a bit difficult is a good hill climb with some good sized rocks. It is challenging to gain momentum to make it through this sections. I happen to make it through with 4lo/atrac and a few tries.

Well look and read a little closer....I'm 2wd w/locker and who do you think they are following if I'm leading half the time? Kinda hard to hold back what's behind me...There's nobody spotting me through sections on the trails to make it through when I'm lead... But I stop and spot everyone else who needs it through tuff sections. So in that since wouldn't they be holding me back since I'm having to stop and get out to spot and help them? Food for thought...
But here it is we don't hold anyone back ...80% is the driver in any rig 2wd or 4wd, 10% is your rig set up as a whole(2wd,4wd,tires,suspension,mods etc) 5% is the bond of you and your rig (how well do you really know it..it's capabilities,likes, dislikes, ticks, sounds and feels) to me your bond will get you through a lot is a big plus seriously ..but the the last 5% is how big are your balls and how much are you willing to risk? (Damages,breakage,body damage,repairs) and are you properly prepared for any trail repairs?
If not then your balls just shriveled and you can't risk anything cause how would you get home? If your not prepared properly...
So now you have already handicapped and limited yourself and your rig most of all, so now your unable to find out what you and your rigs capabilities and limits really truly are....seriously.
Think about it.....
So is it 2wd or the driver that is the hold back? Or 4wd in that case....
Every rig and driver has its plus and minuses ...That's WHY WE WHEEL TOGETHER!!! One persons plus helps another persons minus and with more people comes less minuses and quicker results.
That's why the SoCal crew is so solid nobody is denied, since we provide plenty of info to know what your getting into...and nobody points a finger as a blame or "a hold back".

I second to Miah's speech, we have to check if he plagiarized it like Melania Trump. LOL!!! My rig is 2wd and I pushed her when or where ever I can and this is before the locker. It was mainly sheer will, picking your lines, knowing your rig and going for it. No worries if you get stuck....you're a winch away from continuing on. It's always a good time and learning. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!!!!

This is the pic of the first hill climb [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION] forgot to hit record. [MENTION=77357]85straight[/MENTION] in this pic, I would say is about.......half way up.This climb is steep/loose with decent size rocks throughout this climb. Once you get to the top,the view is rewarding.
If your cooling system isn't doing so great now and if the outside temps are in the upper 70's+ In big bear, this climb will test it. Just be prepared for any type of situation that could happen on a trail run. I know if [MENTION=117408]Oneluv13T4R[/MENTION] is leading, he will not leave you behind stranded.

That's great to hear that there is a comradery between the SoCal runners. I would love to test the limits of my truck as soon as it's ready. The reason I asked is that I have read a few threads and the 2wd vs. 4wd sentiment pops up. The site is T4R not T4R4X4 as another member stated.

Yup, that's the one I'd be worried about in 2wd. Over half the group slipped in the middle where [MENTION=77357]85straight[/MENTION] is. ATRAC got me through it.

That's the first real climb of the trail, a form of a gatekeeper I suppose. I didn't realize anyone slipped on that climb I was on open diffs and had no issues. It's a great way to start the trail if you make it up

You were in the front, I was towards the back watching people slip and wondering if I was going to make it up. That was probably the hardest climb I had done in the runner to that point. I've put it through the tests since.

[MENTION=62034]Keemonrunnin[/MENTION] Kimo my ninja! That was a great run! It was 20* and the rain/snow was coming down sideways. That's the section where I pulled Ken(Kanger328)up. After that we ran 3N93/2N06X(EtoW). You ain't afraid to wheel a $$$ 5th gen!
