July 2016 Meet and Run

Thanks Miah and Al for setting up another great run. Those last trails were something else........ Sorry for bailing with Tim but didn't want to hear the wife b*tch at me again for not being home in time to take her to dinner because of another T4R run.

Ya we ended up finishing the first section of trail and kicked it at Danny's campsite for a while...didn't get home till about midnight...yep wife was like wtf hahaha

I must have been hauling ass because I got from GVL to my house in an hour and 45 minutes

Great day, I'm bloody exhausted tonight though. We ended up tooling around and I left sang and his buddy Sean at big bear, came back around and ran 2w13 or whateverit was from big bear back to green valley. Glad you guys came back around and hung at camp. Was good fun.

Big shout out to my hero's Danny, (Asian Danny 3rd gen w/ winch), Tom, and Connor wench anchor also everyone who helped out Sang, random solo Jeep guy with a wench. I'll bring a case of whatever everyone want's on the next run haha!

Here's all my pics and coverage I got of Saturday's run. It was a very challenging trail with all the dry gravel/ loose rocks as everyone mentioned above. I knew it was going to be fun day when the first order of business was to rescue Miah off some train tracks...yup you heard right, ACTIVE train tracks!

Then I went and got myself stuck on one of the first difficult steep offshoots. I chose the wrong line going right instead of left at the bend. After getting stuck I tried to reverse out and ended up just sliding the front end right off the trail due to the steep grade...it was pretty scary as it was happening. Once I slid off I was like I better call for help and that's when my knights in shining 4runners arrived lol!

Wow looks like a great time, sad I missed it but had prior plans with my 8mo old son and installed my fuel tank and t-case skids. I'll be at Last Chance trail this weekend. I'll try to make the August event if the wife will let me...she'll get annoyed if I leave her with a screaming baby too often.

It was definitely a day not to be missed, haha. Nothing ever goes as planned, but in the end we all had smiles on our faces.


I'm likely out of any August runs. Right now I've got plans to head to the Lake Isabella/Kern area in 2 weeks right before my son goes back to school and that's going to take up my T4R gas fund. It's going to be a Thurs-Sat run if anyone wants in. Jawbone to Isabella to somewhere. If the weather and bugs aren't too bad I might just post up on the lake for 2 days.

Thanks all for the awesome day! I got this lasting memory coming down from what turns out to be the hardest section of the trail. Overall I was impressed with what the stock 2wd got done. Thanks to [MENTION=75445]4Running Daily[/MENTION] for the assist on the loose section!

That was an awesome trip, you guys got me hooked can't wait for the next one! I'll definitely have to invest in a snatch strap of my own so I wont have to borrow. I'm still building my kit little by little.

I wanted to thank you for giving me a pull up the hill and to those that helped me stack rocks just to get me out of the way so you guys can get going! LOL! Definitely learned a lot and the limits to the 2WD with lockers. I still think if it was a solid ground the 2WD guys would have made it.:crutch:

Dude, if you get mud tires and a rear locker you will be unstoppable. You got me thinking now about swapping my steel line out for synthetic and a snatch block. DAMN money pit!!! Good times man.

Not sure mud tires and a locker would have made a difference getting out of all that loose shit. All he was doing was sliding around every time we tried to move him. That was definitely a winch needed situation. Snatch block definitely would have helped with some of the strain on the winch/engine due to the angle.

Anyone get video of me popping Miah off the tracks? Was hoping my slider camera caught it, but looks like I never hit play before we headed down grapevine canyon.
