Everyone else here is so friendly and helpful that I want to pose a question about a problem I'm having with my car...
I've got an '02 VW Jetta (probably the last time I'll get something other that a Toyota) that I do really like. I've been having issues that seem like there may be a problem somewhere with getting water in my oil, though it's never major...
My car has always consumed a little oil (though less now with a synthetic blend), so I check it at every fill-up. Once I get just over 1k from an oil change, I'll sometimes get just a little white goo coming out on the dipstick, never a lot, just about the size of a grain of rice sticking to the bottom of the dipstick, with otherwise normally colored oil. My oil filler cap also tends to have a watery film of yellow goo on it.
No one who's ever changed my oil has said anything about it, and as I said, the oil is otherwise perfectly normal. Does anyone have any ideas?
It's the 2.0L 4cyl engine, which I'm told is a good, reliable engine. I do find it funny that at 75k miles my '02 Jetta burns oil, and the oil on the stick is usually pretty black, where my '87 4runner with 210k doesn't burn or leak any oil, and the oil on the stick is always golden brown...
