Just another lift thread...

I know no one wants to see another lift thread, but I just had a couple of quick questions that I've had trouble finding straight forward answers for.

1. I want to do TRD Tundra/890 and I'm curious about the rake. If I do Bilstein 5100's on the front, will it level it out? Will I even need to worry about leveling it out, or is there not enough of a rake for it to be an issue?

2. The only place I've found to get the Tundra springs is this website. When I put in the part numbers, there are about 15 different items with the same number. Which one do I get? Or is there a better place to find the springs? Maybe one that has them pre-assembled with the Bilsteins?

Thanks in advance for the help! :thumb3:

After reading around a bit more I don't think the rake will be an issue, but I'd really like an answer on which springs to buy and/or where.

You can get the Tundra springs and Bilstein 5100 preassembled from Sonoran Steel. Otherwise you have to source the separate parts and do it yourself. If going new I would just type in toyota cheap parts and use one of the many online sources. Otherwise try craigslist and junkyards for old springs.

After looking at Sonoran steel and their parts list, I decided to add up the cost of all of the parts and it's about $200 less than Sonoran steel, minus the stuff they add that's custom fabbed. Is the Sonoran steel kit really worth the extra money?

No it's not worth it. They make a great kit and if you don't mind paying extra for someone to do the work, then it's the place to go. I would use DSM (downsouthmotorsports.com) for the 5100's, Tundra springs from one of the Toyota parts sales online (not sure which is cheapest) and Tundra coil isolators from Wheelersoffroad.com. Then reuse your stock top plates and you're good to go. Save that $200 for nice rear shocks or something else worth it.

I didn't think so. :\
What are coil isolators? Is it like a bushing?
And I was iuntending to buy the springs from a toyota parts sales place, like the link in the original post, but it came up with so many different parts that I had to make this thread. I'm not sure which is the part I want. I'm assuming it's the second to last one for the V6 with the off road package, but I wanted to confirm.

Thanks again for being so helpful. :)
