So many things I want to do to, and with, the 4runner. But family issues always take precedence.
I'm currently not even driving it, my sons are. I'm back in the 68 pickup.
We moved to AZ 3 years ago. Two sons (#1 & 3) stayed in CA. Son #2 & daughter moved with us (all are adult age).
Son #3 started work at the same company & location as me, so he's been staying with us until he gets his own place (put offer on a house Friday). His Wife & kids are still in CA for now.
So son #2 drives our Jeep Grand Cherokee & son #3 is driving my 4runner. His family has a Kia Rio.
They were coming to visit (500 miles each way) and the engine blew along the way (hole in block). So they are now using the Jeep, sons are sharing the Toyota, I'm back in the old pickup. My Wife is driving her Ram that no one else likes.
So one of my projects is repairing the Kia. They still owe $8,000 on it. A shop replacing the engine is about the same amount. So Dad/Grandpa will guide him through the process of rebuilding an engine.
Also financially assisting them (my 4runner mod fund) get another car so that I can get my 4runner back. When the Kia's repaired they'll have 2 cars. Son #2 will have the Jeep back.
In other vehicle news, the wind blew over my (600lb) motorcycle, again. It blew over last year and catastrophically cracked the 40 year old fairing. Got a (also 40 year old) replacement that needs work done to it.
All this, and I'm home only 1-2 days a week. OTR truck driver.
Sorry for the long, whiney rant. Living on the road I have a solitary life, no one to talk to, no friends.
