The Roads Where I Live

I've made references to the dirt roads where I live. These aren't normal dirt roads. So I took a couple videos on my way to the store today.
The first one is the "block" I live on. If there's been a thunderstorm then both ends of our block become impassable for a few hours.
The second one is at one end of our "road". It's more of a wash with tire tracks along it. We almost bought a house on that "Drive".
There are hundreds of miles of these "streets & roads" in our 79 sq/mi unincorporated town. Some get much more entertaining than our mild street.

It's convenient for us. Wife works in Kingman and I work in Bullhead City.
Golden Valley is smack dab in the middle.
It's quiet. Very Libertarian. Free to do what you want as long as you're not bothering someone else.
It's a time capsule of American freedom.

Looks pretty interesting. We have traveled out to Scottsdale and Tucson to visit relatives and traveled up through Sedona, Flagstaff and to the Grand Canyon. I live on the ocean in New England so it’s such a stark contrast to where I’m from. It’s just so damn dry, lol.

We moved there in the summer, 120°f.
Six months later the kids built a 4' snowman in our yard. (A once every 10 year event) But there's a dusting of snow in winter.

I like that our streets are "rustic". Keeps out the Liberal riff-raff.
We still have conservative riff-raff, but it's less riff-raff than paved cities/towns

Our streets are rustic, too. Most of them are asphalt over ancient cobblestone, with old collapsing brick vault storm sewers underneath. This is just for the City and doesn't include the surrounding counties. Here's a recent headline...

I talked to a lady just this weekend that has a son that lives in Bullhead City. She said it was windier than hell.
