I recently joined the ranks of the T4r world, whoopee!!
This is a huge change for me. From '97 Chevy Camaro V6/RWD to '03 4runner - 4WD/V8.
Camaros, snow, sleet and ice do not play well together. Last year, roads not plowed took me about 4 hours to make what normally takes 20 minutes!
So I moved up to the 4Runner and it stopped snowing! Please, bring me some snow and don't plow or salt the roads!!! Just once more this year, please!
On a more serious note, I did struggle a bit with this car. It's 2003 and has 114K miles on it. Almost all of the other 2003 cars had 60 to 80K miles. With fewer miles came at a higher price. A typical 4runner in this area list like this:
2003/ 72K miles/V8/ 4WD/ Limited Good Car Fax $16,000
My new car was as above except 114K miles/ $13,500. So I saved 2.5K for about 40K miles. Also the 90k service (new cam belt/water pump) was performed. I'm not sure what that service runs but I'll guess somewhere around $500.
So my question, is it worth saving that kind of money for that many extra miles?
