After copious amounts of research, my wife and I finally decided that the best suv for the money was a T4R. And after much hunting, we finally found a gorgeous 2005 V8 Sport Edition with only 144,000 km (89,000 miles). This thing is absolutely mint. Ot a mark, spec, scratch, ding anywhere to be found. The previous owner meticulously cared for it obviously. And the deal we got was out of this world. We would've had to have been re****ed not to buy it!!!
Now since I am new to this forum and also T4R ownership, I was hoping that maybe I could get some info on any quirks, service intervals, and things to just do to such as maintenance wise, to ensure that this thing will last us many years to come. I called my local Toyota dealership and they informed me that the timing belt is due at 144000 km, and also all fluids are due to be replaced as well. I am going to try and find out if the PO replaced the timing belt prior to my purchase.
We also noticed that there is a noise coming from the front drivers side wheel area when I hit a bump. I can also feel it on the floorboard with my feet. Sounds to me like a shock. And from what I have learned my sport is equipped with the XREAS suspension system. And if it turns out my shock is gone, then the general consensus is that the Bilstein 5100 series leveling shock is the way to go.
Anyways, I will try to post some pics, but bear with me since I am not to familiar with posting pics on forums. This truck is awesome. We love it. And I am sure that I will be on here frequently seeking advice and researching upcoming mods that I have already planned for this rig.
