I just picked up a fairly clean 98 2WD 4cyl automatic with 90K mi for $500 off the original owner. The owners daughter ran it too hot and blew the head gasket. Long story short, the block and a new head are in the back along with the AC and hopefully with the rest of the parts. I know some SMOG parts are missing, which will be a PITA, because I live in Ca.
I bought the project car to try and teach my 12yr old son how to wrench. I have rebuilt several engines and I'm a fairly competent wrench myself (this is my first Toyota), so I look forward to many hours with my son in the garage over the next couple of years.
I have been trying to look over various builds to get ideas, but I'm unable to see any pictures. Do I need to enable some setting to view posted pics?
