Just bought my first truck all by myself :D

Hey all,

Just purchased my first truck, '06 4Runner Sport Edition with 28,500 miles on it. I used to drive a '98 Toyota Camry, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I must say this truck is incredible!

I know it's nothing special compared to everyone else's hooked up T4R's, but I figured I'd share.

2 days after I bought it, I took it to the beach to test it out and made sure all the 4wd features were functional.

Having the ability to go on the beach is one of the main reasons behind me wanting to get an SUV like this.

Unfortunately, I have to wait a few months before I can go on any beaches around here since it's practically winter already...

It's going to be a long winter :x

I noticed your license plate is from New York. I live in the tri-state area and was wondering what beach you went to and what their policies are on 4x4s. Thanks!

I drive onto Robert Moses (west of field 2). You need a 4x4 fishing permit, which is 65$. I buy my permit at the Belmont state office in Babylon, and I believe you can get them from the Robert Moses offices. With the permit you can go on a few more beaches on Long Island like Gilgo and I think Montauk.

You pretty much need to air down your tires, you must have fishing equipment on you, a tow rope, portable toilet, jack, jack board. As long as you have those few you're fine.

Take those nerf bars off and get some sliders. Then lift it and drive the snot out of it, for a 4 year old car its got no miles. Nice purchase!

Right now I'm enjoying it the way it is, unfortunately I can't afford any mods right now, but definitely in the future I will be looking to lift it. I love the T4R in your avatar, is that yours?
