Is this the truck you were looking at that needed the timing chain or such? Cough up the details for us! Looks like a pretty clean truck as is, even if you need to put in a good amount of work to get her going, it will be well worth it in the end( not that their ever is an "end" when building a truck haha). And best part about it needing work is you will learn a lot from doing it yourself,before you know it, you'll be an expert:nod:

It has brand new tires on there already so the priorities are:
1. Get the timing chain replaced and engine purring like new again
2. Replace a few broken steering/suspension pieces so it's safe to drive
3. Get all the brakes up to par
4. Clean up the interior trim/carpet pieces
5. Get the stereo working and updated
By that time I'm hoping I've had it for about 6 months or so and I can look at doing a lift kit/33" tires then!
I paid $1450. She has 331k miles on a replaced engine at ? miles. I figure worst case scenario I should at least be able to make my money back if not profit on it if I decide to sell it. But for now, I'm liking her!

Not a bad deal. My advice is to wait until you know the truck like the back of your hand before making any performance mods to it. You'll be a much better driver off and on road. And if you decide to sell it , you wont get your money back for money you spent on the lift etc.

Good advice straight! Right now I just want her to run reliably because she is my daily driver. After that I will do the minor interior cosmetic mods like cleaning the seats and replacing the carpet so it's a little quieter and I can hear the radio and then I will do the exterior cosmetic mods.

Looks better on here, bigger picture. Also I noticed, get them wires/cables from the bottom side tied up from being snagged on protruding objects.

No doubt Leonard! You will see it asap. I have a lot of work that needs to be done. Checking online for timing chain kits now. Next day I'm off is Thursday.

I've heard of their kit. My girlfriend works at Oreilly's Auto Parts. I don't get a discount but she has a kit in stock for $52.99 and it comes with a lifetime warranty. Yes it's got the plastic driver's side piece, but the way I see it, that's how toyota did it and it is meant to last 100,000 miles, so I figure that's good enough. Steel may just be a bit overkill. Also if I keep this rig another 100,000 miles that would be a miracle! lol
