Just did 2000KM trip , fuel milage observations

Well I just took the girl on her first long trip , had 4000KM on it by the wife and its first oil change on it before going, averaged 10-11 L/100km as the display also indicated so I know that is accurate ,average speed 110KM/hr quite a bit of use of cruse control whitch is harder on gas but was still thinking I would of got better. Not use to the low torque (my DD is a 850 ft/lb cummins) , even on the smallest hills / grades it was down shifting is this the norm ? even on some hills it would kick down and rev to 4K with the CC on , so after that I took the CC off in the hilly areas . Nice smooth ride thoug and the steering is very responsive compared to my road wandering dodge cummins :thumb3:

One observation I had when comparing the 2010 4Runner limited to the FJ Cruiser I owned...going down steep hills, the FJ would downshift automatically on the first touch of the brake pedal. The 4Runner won't downshift until the 2nd touch of the brake pedal, which is preferable.

What type of terrain did you drive on? (Hilly, relatively flat?)

Can you translate those numbers into 'merican for me?
The CC can be a pain but I've found you can cheat it somewhat on smaller hills by throttling up before you reach them. I'd do that normally since coming from a small 4cyl p/u truck. No need to hit resume...usually. YMMV.
Interesting tidbit on hitting the brake twice, I'd noticed it was a bit random, now I know why.

I've been happy with my mileage so far. I've hit 24+MPG on several trips but I'd be ecstatic if I could hit 26MPG...er...9.05 L/100km

Intresting never noticed the two brake tap thing , I will have to try it . For the math I remember one tank top up was 350km for 36L so that is 350x.6 =210 miles , 36L/ 3.78 US Gallon =9.52 Gal 210/9.52 = 22MPG I think that is the correct math , I guess that isn't too bad maybe it will get a little better once it loosens up a little.
