That's a beautiful new addition, but I just don't think you can beat the 3rd gens for their overall size, design, etc etc. The black really looks good on it!

$40k is cheap for what your getting these days. Remember our 3rd gens were around $30-$35k when they were new.

That's why you wait 4 or 5 years and get a certified pre-owned vehichcle. I would never buy a brand new car/truck it's a total ripoff not to mention you lose 10K as soon as you drive it off the lot...

2-3 yr old certified is the way to go nowadays. My car was $46,500 MSRP and I got it 1 yr old with 4100 miles for $33,400. 4Runners are a bit different though, they really hold their value so you dont save too much on something 2-3yrs old.

I agree, but every now and then, just sometimes, it's nice to know you're the only one that's touched/driven that truck. It's like shoes...would you buy used?

Im with you for the most part. Spent 58k on my sequoia from the factory with all the bells and whistles. Great machine, but I regret how much I spent. Then we did the Civic from my buddy at the dealer for at cost....Its a good piece of mind buying new cars, but when I bought our accord with 113k on it, its running just as well, and my 3rd gen with 200k, well shes a star. Takes a lot of work to find a great used vehicle, but it can be worth it in the savings.
