Just finished 3,000 mile road trip to Southern Utah!

Ok guys this thread is made as a follow-up to my previous thread: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/90074-4runner-has-150-000-miles-want-take-4-000-mile-trip.html and is picture heavy.

For those following that thread i changed my trip to just Arches National Park and Canyonlands Utah. Total mileage from this trip was 2,903.2 miles, with the 4runner getting around 21 mpg. The 4runner now has almost 154,000 miles and had no problems at all during this trip. The only problem i had was accidentally backing up over a large rock in canyonlands which resulted in a bent up passenger side running board (i'll make a separate thread for that).

I did lots of rafting (colorado river), hiking(delicate arch at sunset and mesa arch at sunrise), mountain driving (La Sal mountains) and some off-roading (chicken corners and hurrah pass area) It was on my way to these off roading trails where i saw a red 4runner that fell off a 1,000 ft cliff (i'll make a separate thread with pictures for that too) EDIT: Thread here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/96644-red-4runner-falls-1-000-ft-off-cliff-near-moab-utah.html#post853367

Thanks Catfish! Did your trip end up going as planned? Mine was actually almost cancelled and it got changed up so much unfortunately. Also in case anyone was wondering the plasti-dipped wheels held up amazingly. They still look like new after going through dirt, sand and rocks, and i just recently power washed them with a high pressure washer and they look even better now! If you want to plasti-dip them but are afraid of their durability just go ahead and do it! It's much more durable than you think!

I haven't taken my trip yet...I leave this coming Friday! I've been running around trying to get stuff together and run all the necessary errands before I go, but I feel like I still have so many things to do before then.......

Hahaha no i just photoshopped the plate to be a bunch of zeros. I thought it would be less distracting than blurring or leaving it blank. I guess i should make up a vanity plate next time. I'll make it say 4runners or something lol

Thanks! yeah i passed through Farmington, NM on my way back after going through shiprock. Is that where you are located? If so you arent far from all those beautiful trails out in southern Utah and western colorado!

I'm about 30 miles south of Shiprock.:biggrin2: I never been on the trails in Canyonland yet, but I've been in Telluride area.
