a new 2003 4runner and love it. Glad to find this club and have a place to ask questions and learn a little about our new 4runner. We got the sr5 w/v8 and its great. This vehicle is for my wife. I drive an 2001 Dodge diesel I also belong to the Turbo Diesel Register which is the Dodge diesel club and find it very helpful. Well here is hoping for the best with the Toyota.

Congrats, Rich. Hope it's a good vehicle for you. I took my SR5 V8 on it's first highway trip yesterday, and it chewed up the miles effortlessly and with a very high level of comfort.

The designers had brilliant, practical minds.

So far so good!!!!

WE bought the silver color w/ the taupe interior. We have about 1700 miles on it a couple highway trips and seem to ave about 18 mpg. Preety good for a v8 auto full time 4wd. The highway trips were traveling 75 to 85 mph and some mountain driving in Utah. The package we have is the V8 5 speed auto w/4wd the 17" alum wheels moonroof and lots of other goodies. Toyota does put alot of little extras for the customer that Dodge holds back to save money. Dodge lost me because of poor customer service from the dealer and the Corp. I have read about rust issues on Japanese made vehicles but here in the desert it won't be an issue. The only thing I'm seeing is an oily residue that gathers on the windshield. I clean it and its back within the days drive????? Dealer thinks its prep dept armor all or some other cleaner that got down in the defrost ducts? It is sometime accompanied by a little water. I'll get it figured out I hope.
