Just Got My First Dent, and I'm Not Too Happy...

When we went to pull off the factory rails we noticed some dents under the rail caps that are now exposed because of the smaller Gobi roof print. Also noticed this one on the side of the roof. Oh and there was small rust under the roof caps. Thankfully they're not really noticible from the ground.
Are the dents from where you pried the caps off or where they there before? I have seen those same dents on other posts where they say to be extra careful when removing the caps.

Did you notice those dents before the Gobi was on the roof?
I had the same dents in the same spot on my 2017 Cement with a Gobi, and on my 2015 with a Gobi (but less visible).
Not sure if it was from the factory that way, dented when prying off the end-caps, tightening the Gobi down ect???
It is a tough area to fix with PDR since it is the reinforced roof rail area, but luckily I found a great PDR guy in Arlington that made it as good as new

you need to hurry up and scrape out that rust then paint and seal before it's too late

Almost as bad as an acorn...LOL This TRD Pro got his first dent on Friday night.
I've done that trail a few times... and it spooked me. I can't imagine why someone would attempt it at night in a nearly stock truck. Pretty crazy..... I'm curious what triggered the fire.

Yikes!!!
my roof has so many dings and scratches from so many things throughout the years. More so than the body... no one will really see the dent unless they're 8 feet tall.

I can't remember the exact trail, but pretty sure that's at Hidden Falls.

Yea fire extinguisher really good idea... but I don't think this one should have went up in flames.
The guy must have the worst luck... :brushteeth:
I heard it had a new engine in it from a previous bad luck experience in a flood. Then this... My guess is the motor was not put in right and something was not connected or isolated correctly... These trucks are engineered not to light up on a roll over... Something was off or installed aftermarket incorrectly. It would have been fixable if not for the fire...
Good news is nobody was hurt and that is all that really matters in the end.
