Just got some 20" Boss Rims on my 06 4runner. The low pressue lite stays on.

did the shop that changed out your rims transfer the Tire Pressure Monitors? They are in the valve stems of the stock rims. If they did transfer them and you do have them in your new rims then you need to check the tire pressure your tires. I think they are programmed to activate the low pressure light if the pressure drops below 30 psi. I read somewhere that you can reset the pressure reading by airing your tires to whatever pressure you want and then disconnecting the negative on the battery for a few minutes then hook it back up. Also check your spare tire as that has the TPM in it.

Hey Hoch21 I just read your post in the audio and electronics forum and I saw that you told the installer to keep your pressure sensors in your stock tires. This is where your problem lies. Since the monitors are not in your new rims your pressure light will remain on. You will notice that if you park near to your stock tires and turn your car off an on that the light will go off. This is because the 4runner will read the sensors on your stock rims. You need to have them trasferred to your new rims if you want the light to go off.

The Problem is that the tire pressure valver are like 200.00 from toyota. By the time the light had irritated me enough I said go ahead. Thats when Toyota said that the valves will not fit in my new rims. I am switching them back in the Winter so its not really a big deal. EXcept the damn light!!!

Nice 22"'s I tried to get them put on and the guy said they wouldn't fit. The bolts wern't long enough to support it. So I ended up getting the 20" Boss Black Chrome. Looks great with my Shadow Mica Paint. I'd leave pics, but don't know how to get them on here!

Hey thanks for the compliment! I know the TPS has saved me already like 3 times. One time was on a 300 mile trip. Sucks that you cant put the monitors in your Boss rims because you are using them more than the stock. The reason I say this is because when you have a lower profile tire you dont realize a quickly that you may have a low tire. When you have a 17" rim its a lot more noticeable when the tire gets low. Just my .02 cents!
