Just picked up a new project!

So I've been saving up my money to get some mods done on my Sport(bumper and winch, new all terrain tires, I got my lift on it already) but when I saw this on Mpls Craigslist I had to go take a look at it. It's a '99 SR5 with 187xxx miles on it. It's a 5 speed with a rear diff locker, has 99 tall springs on it already and they are brand new along with 4 new shocks so no plans to lift it at all. Brakes replaced 6 months ago, newish tires on it(10,000 miles) and a brand new battery! Original owner with window sticker and he had most of the records for it, originally bought in Montana. The bad was that there is rust on the rocker panels but the frame wasn't bad and I'm used to owning a rust bucket already(just look at my sig). The rear hatch door latch is sticky and won't open always and of course the antenna doesn't work, that's it for the bad stuff. I took it for a test drive and man did it shift smooth and 4wd and the locker worked great! Needless to say I didn't have enough saved up since I'm a student and I have to have some priorities but I called my dad up and borrowed $1k from him to pay for this thing. I paid $4500 in cash and drove it home. Now I have 3 vehicles and no money! But it was well worth putting my mods on hold. I only have a crappy picture from the ad for it but when I pick it up next week after my fishing trip to Canada I'll get some pics for you guys.

I'm gonna keep it simple for this one. Swap in some Bilstein 4600s keep the 99 tall springs put some good all terrains or mud terrains on it and call it good. Nothing special for this one, the Sport is gonna get the full treatment at some point

It was in Wisconsin across the river from Stillwater. The ad was kind of vague it just said manual and its mileage pretty much, plus it only had one photo, the one I posted. So I took a chance on it and got lucky.

Where did you find it at!? I wanted a 5-speed when I was looking but couldn't find anything in the area here!

They are around, I went to texas to get mine, didn't feel like dealing with chunks of it falling in my eyes every time I worked on it. lol

If you guys are not on the midwest thread you should be, I need to look into setting up a get together on there. Just need to find a place that is close enough for everyone. Somewhere near wausau possibly.

I'm sub'ed to the thread. I go to Dresser every now and then but usually I'm up near Leech Lake driving the old logging roads and then sometimes go to the iron range. If a weekend is set up I'll be sure to see if I can go.

I am going to UP Overland this year we are going up to High Rock Bay for 2 days and then the Mouth of Huron for another 2 days. I will also keep ya in the loop about other shorter trips. My 4x4 club and I are going to the badlands offroad park in Attica IN this summer and a couple other places too.

Never been to the badlands. I've been in da UP many times but never for wheeling. I'm a member of go-4-wheelers but they don't travel really.
