Well, I had a Gold 04 4R SR5 a few years ago and traded it in on an 07 Acura TL Type S during an impulse buy. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the TL, but really missed the versatility of the 4Runner. After getting stuck in the snow about a dozen times last winter, I swore I was gonna have another 4Runner by this winter. I was able to sell the TL about 2 weeks ago and started my search for another 4Runner. I have always loved the look and stance of the 3rd Gen 4R's, so that help with my decision. I was able to find a 1999 Limited edition with the Gold emblems. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the Gold emblems, but it doesn't look half bad on the black exterior. Anyhow, it has 105K miles on it, which is pretty good for an 11 year old vehicle! It's in great shape and it also has an aftermarket DVD player with the flip down screen where the dome light use to be. This was a huge selling point for me since I have a 4 year old son. Only bad thing about the DVD player is that it plays through the stereo system. Would be nice if I could plug some headphones into it and listen to the stereo while he watched his movie. Oh well......anyhow, the only cons I have about the 4R is the head room for one. I'm 6'3", so my head comes pretty close to touching the ceiling and I don't like looking out the top portion of the windows. I also wish the engine was a little more powerful. Maybe I'm just use to the 290 HP TL???? I wish it had the 4.0 liter that my 04 4R had. But the pros go on for days. Well, just wanted to share my story with you guys and I'm happy to be able to post on here again!! I was able to find tons of helpful info on here when I had my previous 4Runner. I'm anxious to start some mods. First things first though.......getting windows tinted next week. I love a black vehicle with tinted windows. Should look nice!!
