do you mean benefits from cost for us or the dealers? the dealership that does my oil change began offering mobil 1 so i asked them how much and they said 60 something dollars! if i were stupid enough to have it done at the dealership i'd be paying more than $1k over 100,000 miles worth of oil changes @ 5k mile intervals. a regular oil change is $25 so i just got the regular. my point is, the next time i'm gonna buy the mobil 1 from costco and do it myself.

I was referring to cost benefit to maufacturers and customers. SOme manufacturers in the premium space includes maintenance for their vehicle as part of the purchase, and they all use syn. Also doing so allows them to stretch their maintenance intervals, whihc makes them more appealing froma purchase point of view, read lower total cost of ownership.

I think the dealer that wanted that much for the Mobil 1 wassmoking something real good, you should have asked them if it includes the drugs they were on : I normally just get my M1 at Costco and it costs $4 or so a qt, so in reality it doesn't cost that much more than dino.

With the V6 an oil change is a snap, so just make sure you keep adequote proof for warranty purposes. Kinda makes me want to get an oil filter relocator, and probably an oil extraction unit, so I dont even have to underneath at all for an oil change. Maybe later
